02.16.10 - Come out to The Intersection in Grand Rapids tonight for the 11th annual WYCE Jammie Awards ceremony and concert. Yours truly have been nominated for Best New Local Group. Join us in the audience (with fingers crossed), and enjoy performances by many of the nominees, including our Irish-folk friends the Conklin Ceili Band. Admission is FREE! The show starts at 6pm.

7.26.09 - Friends at the Ionia Free Fair last weekend named The Waxies the "BEST CELTIC ROCK BAND IN MICHIGAN 2009"! The judges' decision in this epic battle o' the bands was based largely on crowd enthusiasm, so we owe this one to the fans. Sláinte!
Many thanks to fellow Irish rockers and spirited competitors The Tosspints and defending champs Craic Wisely. Also, a fond farewell to guitarist Nick Schooley, who joins the hallowed line of Waxies past after
this triumphant finish.
As a result of this victory, The Waxies have entered the lineup for this year's Michigan Irish Music Festival in Muskegon. As always, stay tuned for details.

4.10.09 - After an excellent St. Patty's week, The Waxies have retired to the woodshed. We bid farewell to Jen on fiddle, welcome Michael in her stead, and promise a rockin' reunion at Quinn & Tuite's in early June.
